Crinan Canal, Argyll & the Isles

The Crinan Canal is a wonderful waterway to experience, enjoy its stunning scenery, wonderful wildlife and many activites on offer. The canal is excellent for fly fishing, with good trout to be caught and even a run of salmon. You do not require a licence to fish on the canal, the best areas are towards the Crinan end between locks 9 and 13. Cycling along the canal is also popular, enjoy the tranquillity of the towpath, or take the road that follows the route of the canal for a faster ride. Look out for plenty of special events and family days out along this intriguing stretch of water. Arrange a yacht charter or book up a hotel or holiday cottage for a great holiday near the Crinan Canal.
