Ardrossan

Ayrshire & Arran

Home of Clyde Marina, Ardrossan was formerly an important port, shipbuilding and industrial centre. It is still the ferry port for Arran. The ferry crosses to Brodick on the Isle of Arran in only 55 minutes, a relaxing journey that lets you slip into island time. You can also get a ferry to the Isle of Man from here. Glasgow is 30 miles to the north-east.The town has been undergoing steady regeneration, and now offers a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops. There is a train connection to Largs and Glasgow. Ardrossan’s twin town of Saltcoats is a historic holiday resort.
