On Saturday September 23rd September the ultimate sea-faring challenge in coastal waters in Ireland is launched!
Under the watchful eyes of Mananan Mac Air, the Irish Poseidon- God of the Sea- and with the kind permission of his son Feabhail (Foyle), who after all owns the place, we set off!
A Stand Up Paddle Board experience to appeal to beginners and hard-core SUPers alike, Feabhail’s Flurry is a challenge beyond compare in Ireland.
On the 6 hours of outgoing tide, participants are invited to leave the shores of Doire- Derry- Londonderry behind and head for the lip of the Lough. A literal translation of ‘lip’ from the Irish, where the mighty River Foyle enters the sea proper at Magilligan, is also Feabhail.
Wherever you get to is your own achievement. Marshalled by experienced kayakers and support craft, the target is the sunny shores of Greencastle, a traditional Irish fishing port and natural harbour.
Prizes and categories (Beginners, Intermediate, Expert) are available.
Places are limited! So book early https://farandwild.org/tours/feabhails-flurry/
