Sligo has a 60m pontoon, with 2m depth alongside at lowest tides, right in the middle of town and convenient for shops and supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. The river channel to the town is well marked and lit, and navigable at all states of the tide. The pontoon has a security gate. Sligo is well served by public transport and an ideal base from which to explore Yeats Country, the homeland of Ireland’s greatest poet.
