Carrickfergus  Marina, on the north shore of Belfast Lough, has 300 berths and a five-gold-anchor rating. Carrickfergus Sailing Club has its clubhouse next door, and welcomes visitors. Supermarkets, shops, restaurants and pubs are nearby and there are excellent train and bus connections with Belfast and Larne.  Carrickfergus Castle, the oldest Norman castle in Ireland, overlooks the harbour and is open to the public.
