Craighouse is the population centre of the Island. A new pontoon for dinghy landing (only) has been installed at the pier, and visitor moorings are available at £10 per night.

Craighouse is a lovely village and the main settlement on the island with a shop, tearoom and a hotel. It has the only distillery on the island and is open by appointment. Jura is ideal for walking, and visitors can walk the tough walks of Paps of Jura, the wild west coast with it's amazing wildlife or visit the Corryvreckan Whirlpool in the north. Jura's west coast is not easy accessible, but offers the visitors wildlife, stunning views and the feeling of being alone on the world.
