James Watt Dock Marina

Based in the historic James Watt Dock, alongside the historic Victorian Sugar Shed this new marina is planned to open in May 2011 and is the first step in establishing an exciting new waterfront development only 23mls from Glasgow and 15mls from the Airport. An office and reception will be open from Jan 2011 and a toilet and shower facility will be in place by the spring. Within easy reach of Greenock’s cinema, pool, ice rink, restaurants and shops, and with nearby train and bus connections the marina will be a great location for both visitors and regular berthers.

Facilities

Facilities include: Dry Berthing Arrangements, Shower Facilities, Launderette, Fuel (diesel only) and Visitor Berthing. Pontoons have 16amp and 32amp metered power supply with water available to every berth. The marina also offers unique facilities for storage ashore and winter lay up including options for storage undercover within the Grade A Listed Sugar Warehouse.

Other facilities/services that will be developed at James Watt Dock during winter 2011 are set to include; café, chandlery, charter, marine electronics, rigging and maintenance/engineering services.

Services

Greenock is a relatively small town  therefore visitors can stroll around the various sites. The Esplanade is a beautiful saunter, which leads to the sparkling waters of the River Clyde. From this fine walkway, you can enjoy spectacular views right out to Kilcreggan and Helensburgh. Make your way to Craig's Top at the apex of Lyle Hill for stunning views. Greenock’s cinema, pool, ice rink, restaurants and shops, and with nearby train and bus connections  the marina will be a great location for visitors.
