Waterworld Bundoran Awarded Donegal’s only White Flag

03 Dec 2014

On December 2nd 2014 Waterworld Bundoran was awarded the only White Flag in County Donegal, testament to the fact that Waterworld is Ireland’s premier indoor water adventure playground. The Ireland Active ‘Gold Award’ was presented to Anderson Keys, General Manager of Waterworld Bundoran at the recent awards ceremony in Galway.

The White Flag is a national standard for quality and grades facilities such as Waterworld on 3 main areas, safety, hygiene and maintenance. The award is similar to the prestigious Blue Flag award for Ireland’s best beaches. The White Flag is fast becoming a highly sought after accolade in the leisure industry and is the only award that is specific to the Irish Leisure and Spa Industry. Chief Executive of Donegal County Council Seamus Neely said that “we are delighted that Waterworld has once again attained the White Flag National Quality Standard. Achieving this best practice standard is a great reflection on the hard working team at Waterworld Bundoran”.

The White Flag award is well deserved and as GM Anderson Keys stated “we pride ourselves on this achievement and work hard each year to ensure our facility maintains its high standards so that all of our visitors can have an enjoyable and importantly safe visit to Waterworld and the Seaweed Baths”.

Waterworld Bundoran is fun for all the family with a wide range of water slides to suit all age groups. There is a wave pool for that exhilarating wave experience and a whirl pool adjacent to it. The kiddies pool will keep the little ones happy and some of the larger slides will thrill the older kids. Waterworld is an experience not to be missed in the seaside town of Bundoran, Donegal.
